The Earth-Science Modeling Group has activities on teaching, research and applications of mathematical, numerical and computational models in Earth Systems.
The Earth-Science Modeling Group is involved in teaching, research, and application of stochastic and deterministic models in the Earth Sciences. It also offers courses, seminars, and helps with scientific papers. It suggests ways to create spatial models for researchers and students. The research group extends its sincere congratulations to Dr. J.M. Carmona-Pérez on the successful defense of his doctoral dissertation. We commend this significant academic milestone and celebrate his new designation as a Ph.D. 
The ESMG group participated in the MexSIAM 2026 Annual Meeting hosted at UABJO, presenting in the special session 'Image Processing for Digital Modeling in Porous Media'.

Van Huong Le, Martín A. Díaz-Viera, Raúl del Valle-García, and Daniel Vázquez-Ramírez were recognized for their work in the MULTIVARIATE COPULA-BASED MODEL FOR PREDICTING PETROPHYSICAL PROPERTIES USING SEISMIC ATTRIBUTES AS VARIABLES as the best doctoral work the Solid Earth area presented at the congress of the annual meeting of the Mexican Geophysical Union (RAUGM 2020).
